Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledgeskillsvaluesbeliefs, and habits.

Preschool

  • Preschool stage is the foundation of child’s knowledge, skills and behaviour.
  • Age limit for admission in nursery is 2 to 3 years.
  • Age limit for admission in LKG is 3 to 4 years.
  •  Age limit for admission in UKG is 4 to 5 years.
  1. At Nursery level activities help child unfold her/his talents, enables them to sharpen their mental and physical abilities.
  2.  LKG and UKG stages prepare and help children emotionally, mentally, socially and physically to grasp knowledge easily in the later stages of school and college life.

Primary

  • The Indian government lays emphasis on primary education, also referred to as elementary education, to children aged 6 to 14 years old.

Secondary

  • Secondary education covers children aged 12 to 18

  • successful completion of Higher Secondary, one can apply to higher education under UGC control such as Engineering, Medical, and Business Administration.

The ratio of public schools to private schools in India is 7:5.

  • Modern education in India is often criticised for being based on rote learning rather than problem solving.
Indian Education system seems to be producing zombies since in most of the schools students seemed to be spending majority of their time in preparing for competitive exams rather than learning or playing.

Delhi University To Develop Online Portal To Track PhD ProgressDelhi University To Develop Online Portal To Track PhD Progress

  • NEW DELHI:  Progress report of a student right from PhD enrollment to thesis submission will now be available online with Delhi University developing a dedicated portal for the purpose.
  • At present, all work related to PhD including admission, thesis, research report, attendance, marks, interview, viva, progress report and others is being done manually, which involve a lot of paper work.
  • "But with digitisation, all these records will be maintained on the online portal. The portal will not only help PhD scholars but will also ease the work pressure on the staff," the official added.
  • In 2014, DU had signed an MoU with the University Grants Commission (UGC) to upload thesis and dissertations of its research scholars on the digital database 'Shodhganga repository'.
  • As many as 27 departments in Delhi University are running PhD courses in the fields of arts, commerce and science.
